    Master Perfumer

    Marius Pană

Marius Pană grew up amid the pine‑filled hills of Romania, where the scent of resin and earth sparked his curiosity. He enrolled in a chemistry program and spent seven years mastering the molecular language of scent. After an apprenticeship with a Parisian laboratory, he launched the creative workshop Art & Parfum in 1997. The studio quickly attracted boutique brands seeking precise, artful compositions. Over the next two decades Pană authored more than fifty fragrances, each bearing his exacting balance of structure and emotion. In 2019 he opened Jinkoh Store, a curated space that showcases his own line and highlights his signature use of oud. Today he remains a quiet force in niche perfumery, guiding younger noses while continuing to experiment with rare woods and aromatic herbs.

    The signature

    How Marius composes

Pană favors a disciplined layering technique, building structures that reveal themselves over time. He often begins with a mineral or resin base, then adds a heart of rare woods, and finishes with a subtle amber or spice veil. Oud appears in many of his works, but he treats it as a nuanced note rather than a dominant force. Vetiver, ambergris, and Mediterranean herbs recur as supporting pillars. His compositions balance clarity with depth, allowing each element to breathe while maintaining a cohesive silhouette.

    Philosophy

    What drives Marius

Pană treats each formula as a conversation between memory and material. He believes chemistry provides the rules, but imagination decides the narrative. A background in psychology helps him translate feelings into scent, turning abstract moods into tangible accords. He respects the provenance of every ingredient, insisting that ethical sourcing preserves the spirit of the raw material. For him, perfume is a bridge that connects personal history with collective culture, and each creation aims to provoke a quiet reflection rather than a loud spectacle.
