Dohfar arrives from Kinamic's Private Collection as a 2025 release, limited to twenty-four bottles and exclusive to Beauty World Dubai. The composition gathers materials from across the Arabian Peninsula and Southeast Asia into a single sealed blend. Vintage Red Hojari frankincense from Oman anchors the resinous foundation, while green Omani frankincense adds a brighter counterpoint above. The oud selection spans three countries: Sultani Burmi oud from Myanmar, Indian oud, and Nha Trang oud from Vietnam. Each resin carries its own geographic signature, and bringing them together in one composition is an unusual structural choice. Twenty-four bottles total suggests the house approached this as a material study rather than a commercial release.
What defines this composition is the frankincense layer acting as connective tissue between oud varieties that rarely share the same formula. The oud selection covers Myanmar, India, and Vietnam, while the frankincense selections cover green Omani and Red Hojari grades. The evolution
The opening presents frankincense first, establishing the resinous foundation before the oud materials fully register on skin. Green Hojari carries the initial brightness, giving way as the composition shifts into its warmer register. Taif rose surfaces during the early-to-mid phase, adding a sweetness that carries more fruit than floral character. As the hours progress, the ouds assert themselves and begin to interact with the supporting notes. Burmese oud establishes itself as the weightier presence, Indian oud introduces its characteristic sharpness, and Vietnamese Nha Trang settles beneath both with a cleaner sweetness. Wild lavender fades earlier than the other materials, having done its work during the opening phase. The fragrance demonstrates above-average longevity, with the base notes holding well into the later hours.
