Why it exists.
The beginning
Romano Ricci designed Pear Inc around a single premise: green pear as the lead, supported by a clean musk base and Ambroxan lift. Green-peel sharpness opens the top, bright and immediate. That crispness transitions from sharp to ripe over the first thirty minutes, growing sweeter and more luminous as the Ambroxan warms against the skin. The musk drydown softens everything, keeping the composition close to the body rather than projecting outward. Ricci trained alongside Francis Kurkdjian rather than inheriting his family's fragrance legacy, and that independence shows in his willingness to strip a fragrance down to its essential idea without apology.
The note selection in Pear Inc reflects a philosophy of restraint. Ricci chose Pear as the sole top note because a single fruit, executed without apology, makes a stronger statement than a blended fruit cocktail. Ambroxan serves as the philosophical bridge, its ambergris-like warmth adding maturity without sweetness. The Musk and Ambrettolide pairing in the base ensures the fragrance settles close to the skin rather than projecting aggressively, creating a scent that rewards proximity over distance.
