The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
The Blossom Special Edition arrived in 2018 as a deliberate escalation of the original 2015 Blossom. Marie Salamagne, the perfumer behind both, made a choice: push further into tropical territory. Red berries became exotic fruits. Cyclamen became frangipani. Everything else stayed, the sandalwood and white musk that anchor the Jimmy Choo base, unchanged. It was a refinement, not a reinvention. The house wanted something that tasted like summer and performed like a statement piece.
Frangipani is the structural pivot here. It's not a common heart note in mainstream Western perfumery, it shows up more often in tropical/niche contexts, but Salamagne used it for what it does best: a warm, creamy, slightly narcotic floral that sits between jasmine and gardenia without either's sharpness. Paired with exotic fruits at the top and creamy sandalwood below, the result is a composition that builds on texture rather than contrast. Nothing fights anything. Everything melts into the next layer.
The evolution
The first spray hits with a quick synthetic pepper-floral burst, almost medicinal, before the exotic fruits assert themselves. Pineapple and peach arrive together, vivid and sweet. Within minutes, that synthetic edge fades and the composition smooths out entirely. The frangipani comes into its own in the heart phase, warm and creamy, the scent growing softer and more intimate as the florals deepen. This is where the fragrance lives longest: that smooth, lactonic warmth of tropical flowers on skin. The sandalwood and white musk arrive quietly as the florals begin to recede, adding a skin-close woody-creaminess that lingers well past the point where the florals have faded. Expect 6-8 hours on most skin types, with the base lasting the longest.
Cultural impact
Jimmy Choo fragrances occupy a specific cultural register: warm-weather femininity, tropical florals, and unapologetic sweetness. The Blossom Special Edition leans into this positioning fully. It's worn by someone who wants to smell like the idea of summer, bright, warm, and present.
