The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Three perfumers, Sonia Constant, Antoine Maisondieu, and Louise Turner, collaborated to craft a fragrance that captures wanting in wearable form. Peach and mandarin open bright and fruity, their citrus peel freshness cutting through with an immediate sweetness that feels both juicy and sparkling. The heart reveals jasmine sambac, its rich, enveloping floralcy intertwining with a deep red lily note that adds unexpected richness without veering into heaviness. Vanilla anchors everything, warm and unhurried, its creamy sweetness lingering beneath the brighter top notes as the fragrance blooms on skin. As the composition develops, the florals soften and the vanilla becomes more pronounced, creating a drydown that feels cozy and intimate without ever losing its initial sparkle.
The floral heart of the fragrance combines jasmine sambac and red lily, creating a deep, enveloping character that differs from more familiar white blooms. Benzoin adds a warm, balsamic quality that bridges the florals and the vanilla, giving the composition a seamless transition from top to bottom. The peach note deserves particular attention: it reads ripe and juicy rather than green, which gives the opening an immediate fullness that many fruity fragrances miss. That richness carries through to the drydown, preventing the final stages from ever feeling thin.
The evolution
The opening arrives immediately, mandarin orange juice cutting through ripe peach with an effervescence that feels tart-bright. Within minutes, the jasmine sambac and red lily take over, transforming the fruit into something creamier, more velvety. By the heart phase, you're fully in white floral territory. The peach is a memory now. The florals lead. Then the vanilla settles in, unhurried, wrapping the florals in warmth until the whole composition softens into something close and enveloping. This is when the fragrance earns its reputation. On skin, it holds for hours. On fabric, it lingers well into the next day. You'll find yourself chasing the drydown on your wrist the following morning.
Cultural impact
I Want Choo occupies a specific corner of the fragrance world: feminine, warm, and unapologetically sweet. The kind of scent that gets described as intoxicating and hypnotic, not because it is complex, but because it knows exactly what it is. Wearers gravitate toward it for its ability to feel like an accessory, a finishing touch that completes a look. The perfume equivalent of arriving somewhere already certain you belong.
