The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
In 2010, Iceberg introduced a fragrance duo, Pour Homme and Pour Femme, as part of a numbered series that paid homage to the brand's founding year. The '74' etched into the glass flacon wasn't decoration. It was a signal. Composed by Nathalie Feisthauer, Pour Homme opens with a bright burst of citrus that immediately lifts the atmosphere. The heart unfolds into a cool, aquatic accord that feels crisp and modern, balanced by green herbal nuances that add depth without heaviness. As the scent settles, soft woods and a clean musk emerge, creating a dry down that feels both fresh and warm. The fragrance maintains the spirit of the brand's sportswear heritage, designed to move fluidly from the gym to the street without losing its edge.
What makes this composition interesting is its restraint. The pyramid is full, bergamot, grapefruit, lemon, vetiver, clary sage, geranium leaf, kingwood, tonka bean, musk, amber, benzoin, but Feisthauer doesn't let the ingredients crowd each other. The citrus opens clean and doesn't apologize for it. The vetiver at the heart carries a green, slightly smoky quality that prevents the whole thing from reading as sweet. The base is warm without being heavy. Siam benzoin and tonka bean provide a quiet resinous finish that lingers at skin level rather than filling a room. It's a study in what happens when a perfumer chooses to hold back.
The evolution
The opening arrives fast, bergamot and grapefruit zest hitting with a brightness that feels almost effervescent. Within minutes, the citrus softens as vetiver and clary sage take over, adding a dry, herbal layer that gives the scent its character. The geranium leaf brings a faint green nuance, almost like crushed stems. By the mid-stage, the amber and musk begin to surface, wrapping the composition in warmth without sweetness. The drydown is where this fragrance earns its keep: a quiet, close scent that stays near the skin for three to four hours on most. The Siam benzoin and tonka bean leave a faint trace, soft, powdery, the kind of thing you catch when someone leans in.
Cultural impact
Eau de Iceberg Pour Homme occupies a specific corner of the market: the affordable Italian sporty-elegant fragrance. It doesn't compete with niche releases or designer statements, instead offering a clean, citrus-forward composition that invites everyday wear. The scent opens with bright lemon and bergamot, creating an immediate sense of freshness that feels both invigorating and approachable. The heart introduces subtle floral and herbal notes that add complexity without overwhelming the composition.
