The beginning
Éclat de Rubis, the sparkle of ruby, was composed by Emna Doghri as part of Gamalion Paris's collection La Promesse du Lion, released in 2024. The fragrance draws its inspiration from the precious stone's particular kind of glamour: not quiet, not loud, but lit from somewhere inside. Ruby has always carried that tension between passion and poise, fire and finesse, and Doghri's composition tries to bottle exactly that electricity. The scent leans into that dual register, treating the ruby as both ornament and ember, something that catches light while giving off its own warmth. There is a deliberateness in how the composition balances its sweetness against its spice, building a fragrance that feels as much about contrast as it is about harmony.
What's interesting here is how the spice does the heavy structural work while the fruits play the pretty parts.
