The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Merci Cafe' is named for a moment, the quiet gratitude of a good cup of coffee in the morning, before the day has asked anything of you. Epicò Parfum works by naming first, then building the scent around that feeling. The characters and places in their collection aren't abstract concepts, they're specific enough to have a mood, a light, a temperature. Merci Cafe' lives in the hour when a café is still half-empty, when the coffee is still hot and no one has started talking yet.
What makes this composition work is the restraint in the gourmand elements. Coffee, coconut milk, madeleine, individually, these could tip into confectionery excess. Together, they lean into warmth without sweetness, comfort without cloying. The cinnamon in the top keeps everything awake. The cedar and sandalwood in the base keep it from dissolving into pure atmosphere. This is coffee as feeling, not coffee as ingredient.
The evolution
The opening hits fast, citrus and cinnamon arrive together, the lemon lifting the spice just enough to keep it from sitting heavy on the skin. Within ten minutes, the coffee enters. Not the bitter roasted kind. The milky, slightly sweet version. The coconut milk follows, rounding the edges. The madeleine reads as a soft, buttery warmth rather than a specific cake note, more impression than ingredient. By the second hour, the heart has settled into something powdery and warm. The coffee is still there, but it's leaning into the vanilla now, both of them cushioned by sandalwood. The cedar appears late, giving the base a dry, woody undertone that stops the composition from going fully soft. The drydown is where this fragrance earns its reputation. Six to eight hours in, on most skin, the musk and vanilla hold the line while the coffee ghosts underneath. It's not a dramatic shift, it's a slow exhale. The sillage stays moderate throughout, which means this is a scent you smell when you move your wrist close to your face. Intimate. Close.
Cultural impact
Merci Cafe' sits in the warm-gourmand corner of the Epicò collection, where the brand's narrative approach meets everyday comfort. It's not trying to reinvent coffee fragrance, it's trying to make it feel like something worth returning to. The reception has been notably positive for its restraint, with wearers describing it as the kind of scent that becomes a habit rather than a statement.
