Palindrose lands in 2026 as part of Ensar Oud's EO Monuments collection, a series the house uses to showcase specific materials through finished compositions. The name reads the same forward and backward, a structural echo that mirrors what the composition attempts: rose and oud meeting in a frame that loops back on itself, each note revealing what came before it in a new arrangement. The opening is a burst of bergamot and tangerine misting into green Sichuan pepper and crushed ginger, a ribbon of spearmint cutting across for brightness before the heart arrives. Six rose variants crowd in alongside Malayan oud, joined by civet, hyraceum, and muskrat that push the bloom from pretty to present.

The evolution
The first ten minutes hit like citrus torn open by hand, bergamot and tangerine misting into green Sichuan pepper and crushed ginger. A ribbon of spearmint cuts across, cool and bright. Then the rose arrives, and it arrives in a crowd. Afghan, Japanese, Malayan oud, Taif, Turkish, Persian, all weighted into one bloom that smells dense and almost overwhelming in its sweetness. The spice builds underneath, vetiver and angelica dragging it earthward, while civet and hyraceum introduce the animalic thread that never quite leaves. Lychee and pear soften the entry, but the oud underneath keeps the whole thing honest, woody and slightly raw. Over the next several hours the rose doesn't fade so much as get rearranged. The top florals withdraw, leaving behind musk, oud, and a low ambered hum of lovage and muskrat, something warm and intimate pressed into the skin.
