The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Coach for Men EDP lands in 2025 as the bolder sibling of the original EDT, Juliette Karagueuzoglou built it to hold longer and project stronger. The brief was simple but charged: a tribute to identity, to the courage of embracing every facet of who you are. Coach has always spoken the language of leather and craft, and this fragrance extends that philosophy into a more concentrated form.
The note palette of cardamom, bergamot, cedarwood, geranium, Morocco leather, and vetiver draws from material reality, echoing Coach's roots in fine leather goods. Cardamom and bergamot create an opening that feels both aromatic and refined. Cedarwood and geranium form a heart that speaks to craftsmanship and natural materials. Morocco leather and vetiver in the drydown connect directly to the leather-working heritage that defines the brand.
The evolution
The opening on cardamom and bergamot immediately signals a departure from the lighter EDT version, with the cardamom providing immediate warmth and the bergamot lending a sparkling clarity. As time passes, cedarwood and geranium emerge, with cedarwood forming the architectural backbone while geranium adds a subtle floral counterpoint. The drydown reveals Morocco leather and vetiver, creating a rich blend of leather, wood, and earth that feels true to the brand's heritage while offering something distinctly more assertive.
Cultural impact
The Saffiano leather reference is smart positioning, a direct line to the brand's material identity without resorting to safe aquatic or ozonic accords. This one answers with cardamom, cedar, and a leather accord that sits closer to skin than announcement. The cardamom brings a warm, aromatic spice that feels intentional, the cedar adds a dry woody core that grounds everything, and the leather accord threads through in a way that suggests texture over trend.
