The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Terra Woods brings something the Reserve line hadn't explored before, a sense of actual earth beneath transparent florals. Coconut and jasmine sambac form the core of this composition, their creamy sweetness warmed by vanilla and anchored by woody notes that feel grounded rather than heavy. The opening delivers white floral brightness from the jasmine sambac, clean and bright, while coconut adds its own quiet warmth underneath. As the fragrance settles, the florals recede and the vanilla emerges more prominently, wrapping around the woody base that lingers closest to the skin. The name says it all. This is woods as terrain, not as accent.
What makes Terra Woods stand apart is the coconut heart, not tropical or sunscreen-adjacent, but creamy and quiet, bridging the white floral top and the warm woody base. Jasmine and geranium provide brightness without sharpness, their clean floral character anchoring the opening. The composition builds from there, letting coconut reveal its presence gradually as the florals begin to settle. Vanilla and tonka bean then wrap around the base, adding warmth and softness while soft musk blends with skin rather than sitting on top of it.
The evolution
First contact: jasmine sambac and geranium, bright and slightly green, a white floral opening without excess. No fanfare. Within minutes, coconut takes over. Not the loud coconut of tropical fragrances, but a softer, creamier warmth that smooths the edges of the florals. The jasmine and geranium fade as the coconut heart opens up fully, sweet and calming. Then the base arrives: vanilla and tonka bean wrap around woody notes and skin-warm musk. By hour three, the florals are gone entirely. What lingers is a close, skin-like finish, vanilla, soft wood, and the faintest trace of musk. The sillage is moderate, present to the wearer before anyone else, and as the fragrance fades it becomes almost imperceptible, a warmth that remains closest to the skin at the very end.
Cultural impact
Terra Woods represents a shift within the Clean Reserve line toward something warmer and more grounded. Where some fragrances in the collection emphasize lightness and air, Terra Woods introduces actual earth under the transparent florals. The composition combines coconut and jasmine sambac at its heart, warmed by vanilla and anchored by woody notes that feel close rather than projecting. This is not a statement fragrance. The kind of scent someone reaches for when they want something subtle, a quiet presence that stays close to the skin throughout the day.
