The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Trigger Touch arrived in 2025 from Christine Lavoisier Parfums, a house whose catalog reads more like a wardrobe than a signature. Where other makers stake everything on a single house code, this one sketches different characters. Sense Joyful, Caramel, and others each carry their own brief, their own posture, their own temperature. Trigger Touch slots into that line as a quieter composition, less theatrical, more interior. It announces itself through the notes themselves: mandarin and peach at the top, heliotrope, rose, and lily in the middle, then sandalwood, cedar, sugar, and musk at the floor. Soft, powdery, feminine, deliberate. A floral fruity composition designed for the moment just before a room changes temperature.
The structural choice here is restraint. Mandarin and peach give just enough brightness to feel alive, then surrender quickly to a heliotrope-led heart that reads almost cosmetic, like the trace of powder lifted from a vanity. Rose and lily thicken the middle without pushing it into bouquet territory. Then the base does something subtle: sandalwood and cedar provide the wooden spine, while sugar and musk do the real work of turning everything soft-close. The composition sits in a powdery register that overrides the citrus, the fruit, and even the wood.
The evolution
The first ten minutes are almost juicy, mandarin zest and peach fuzz catching the air, light enough to read as fresh and just sweet enough to feel intentional. Then the heliotrope arrives, and the whole composition tips powdery. Rose shows up underneath it, not as a standalone bloom but woven into the heliotrope's almond-like softness, with lily adding a cool green edge that keeps it from going too dessert. Around the two-hour mark the base takes over. Sandalwood comes in warm and creamy, cedar gives it grain, and the sugar-musk pairing tightens everything to skin. What lingers past hour five is a soft woody-musk trace, faintly sweet, the kind of scent someone catches only if they're close. On fabric it survives a wash or two. On skin, the wear reads close and intimate, powdery-sweet the whole way down.
Cultural impact
Trigger Touch by Christine Lavoisier Parfums leans into a soft, skin-adjacent register that reads like a warm shoulder rather than a far-off fantasy. The mandarin-and-peach pairing brings a gentle food-adjacent sweetness, the kind that flirts with gourmand territory without crossing all the way into it. Mandarin offers a bright citrus lift that sits well in feminine florals, while peach carries a sun-soaked softness that gives the opening its rounded curve. Together they create an inviting, approachable entry that draws you in before the powdery heart takes over.
