The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Catherine Malandrino built her brand on effortless femininity, the kind that refuses to choose between playful and powerful. remarkable is her answer to the question she hears most: Can something be gentle and still have presence? The name says it all. This is the fragrance for the moment when softness becomes its own kind of strength, when the quiet one in the room stops needing to prove anything. Launched in 2023, remarkable carries her design philosophy into olfactory language: approachable from the first spray, but with enough depth to reward someone who pays attention. The top notes combine orange and dew drop with fruity notes and green notes, while the heart features heliotrope, jasmine, and pink rose. The base includes sandalwood, cashmere wood, coniferous woods, and Kashmiri musk.
What makes Transcendent interesting is the heliotrope-pink rose pairing. Heliotrope brings that characteristic powdery sweetness, sometimes called almond, sometimes called vanilla, always called soft. Pink rose adds a rosy warmth without the aggression of a full rose. Together they create a heart that feels comforting rather than commanding. The base features sandalwood, cashmere wood, coniferous woods, and Kashmiri musk, keeping everything grounded, warm, intimate. This isn't a fragrance that announces itself. It's the one that lingers after you've left the room.
The evolution
The opening is bright and dewy, with orange zest that reads more like citrus blossom than cleaning product, lifted by green freshness that feels like morning. Fruity notes add a subtle sweetness without pushing it into candy territory. Then the hand-off: heliotrope and jasmine arrive together, but jasmine stays respectful, never aggressive, never indolic. The pink rose softens everything further. By the time sandalwood and cashmere wood arrive, the composition has settled into something warm and intimate. The drydown features coniferous woods and Kashmiri musk, creating an intimate base that is soft and skin-like with a powdery finish that lingers close. The heliotrope echo stays present even as the woods deepen. Hours later, there's still a trace, powdery, sweet, close to the skin. The kind of presence that doesn't fill a room but definitely leaves an impression.
Cultural impact
Transcendent occupies a specific space in the fragrance landscape, the soft, powdery white floral that works across contexts. Wearers describe it as the scent of someone who walks into a room and doesn't need to announce themselves. The heliotrope-cashmere combination gives it a distinctive warmth that differentiates it from sharper white florals.
