The beginning

What makes the structure interesting is the tension between the sweet opening and the cool heart. Quince and lychee arrive together, that tropical-fruity burst that defines the top, but here it's cut with lemon water, a sharper citrus that keeps it from cloying. The water lily in the heart is the bridge: not quite aquatic, not quite floral, it smooths the transition from bright to soft. The evolution
The opening lasts about fifteen minutes, that citrus sparkle doing its work before the florals take over. The drydown builds over the next two hours: white musk and iris warming the skin, the blonde woods giving just enough structure to keep it from disappearing entirely.
