Super Oud arrived in 2026 from Bond No. 9, the New York fragrance house. While much of the catalog honors streets and boroughs, Super Oud steps outside the grid. No avenue, no landmark. Just a material: oud, treated as the subject rather than the setting. The brand's own description calls it smoky, rich, and anchored in bold sensuality, a rare resinous wood that brings depth, warmth, and an unmistakable air of luxury. The oud here is the centerpiece, and everything else orbits around it. Roasted coffee, benzoin, and frankincense push it firmly into oriental territory, layering smoke and resin over the wood's dark sweetness. The coffee is Arabica, roasted rather than brewed, lending a dry, ashy bitterness that grounds the composition instead of sweetening it.
What's interesting here is the structural choice. Most oud-forward fragrances build their case around the wood itself, letting agarwood carry the composition from top to bottom. Super Oud inverts that hierarchy. The oud sits in the base alongside patchouli and Amber Xtreme, a modern amber material prized for its radiant warmth. The roasted coffee and saffron do the heavy lifting at the top, while benzoin and frankincense resin build a churchy, resinous middle. Suede in the base softens everything, giving the oud a tactile rather than purely smoky edge. The evolution
