Rodrigo Flores-Roux, Guillaume Flavigny, and Caroline Sabas designed White Tea in 2017 with a focused intent: to isolate the first sip of tea, that single breath of calm before daily noise reclaims attention. The perfumers worked from Elizabeth Arden's heritage of accessible luxury, aiming for a fragrance that felt like a personal ritual rather than a statement. White tea as a named note was intentionally chosen for its rarity in perfumery, offering a subtle, almost meditative quality rather than a typical floral or citrus punch.

The choice of white tea as the heart note reflects a philosophy of restraint. Rather than relying on heavy florals or spices, the composition leans on subtle accords that suggest rather than declare. Pairing clary sage with white iris creates a quiet herbal-floral bridge, while the woody, ambrette, and amber base grounds the lightness with sustained presence. The result is a fragrance that asks the wearer to slow down.

The opening introduces aquatic notes and a fougère character alongside clary sage and mandarin orange, delivering an immediate coolness that feels like morning mist.
