Ormonde Man arrived in 2004 as Ormonde Jayne's first fragrance for men, a deliberate statement from a house that built its language around precision. Geza Schön built the composition around black hemlock and Laotian oud. Together they form a dense, specific heart. Above them he layered a classical spiced-aromatic opening, cardamom, pink pepper, juniper, bergamot, arranged not to flatter but to establish. The top notes open bright and clean, the cardamom lending a sharp spice while the pink pepper adds subtle vibrancy. As the fragrance develops, the juniper and bergamot recede and the darker heart emerges, first the black hemlock with its aromatic forest character, then the Laotian oud settling into the base rather than dominating the composition.
