The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
The name says it all. Victoria's Secret took two of the most universally beloved flavors in perfumery, ripe strawberry and the celebratory fizz of champagne, and built a fragrance around them. Part of the 2025 Archives Collection, this scent celebrates the joy of smelling delicious without complexity or pretense. The idea was simple: what if a fragrance felt like the start of something good?
The architecture leans fruity-floral, with wild strawberry and blackcurrant creating a tart-sweet opening that doesn't collapse into candy. The champagne accord in the heart is less about the wine itself and more about the sensation, the lift, the sparkle, the way effervescence makes everything feel more alive. Jasmine threads through to keep it feminine without tipping into florals-only territory. It's the kind of composition that works because it doesn't try to be more than it is.
The evolution
Wild strawberry hits first, bright, immediate, almost effervescent on its own. Blackcurrant follows with a tart counterpoint, preventing sweetness from taking over. The champagne accord blooms through the heart, lifting everything into something that genuinely sparkles. Jasmine appears midstream, soft and grounding, before raspberry and musk arrive to carry the drydown. By the end, what lingers is a clean, musky sweetness with just enough raspberry to remember where it started.
Cultural impact
Part of Victoria's Secret's broader rebrand toward self-celebration rather than external validation, the Archives Collection positions familiar fruity-floral accords as valid personal choices rather than guilty pleasures. Strawberries & Champagne fits squarely into that philosophy, a scent that asks nothing of its wearer except that they enjoy smelling it.
