The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Tease Crème Cloud arrived in 2021 as part of Victoria's Secret's Tease fragrance family, an extension built around the idea that softness is its own kind of power. The brief was simple: take the brand's iconic Tease and reimagine it as something cloud-light, dreamy, and unapologetically gentle. Perfumer Stephen Nilsen approached this by grounding the sweetness in warmer elements, using sandalwood to give the fragrance structure and musk to ensure it lingered close to the skin rather than projecting loudly into a room.
The use of sandalwood as the heart note reflects a philosophy of balancing sweetness with sophistication. While meringue and vanilla provide instant gratification, sandalwood ensures the fragrance has depth worth discovering on closer inspection. Musk and amber in the drydown create a pairing rationale where warmth meets skin-like intimacy, making this a fragrance designed for wearing rather than simply smelling.
The evolution
The journey begins with meringue and vanilla, two notes that immediately evoke sweetness without being heavy. These opening notes create a playful, inviting impression that makes the fragrance accessible and immediately likeable. As time passes, sandalwood takes center stage, shifting the character from pure sweetness to something more nuanced and grounded. The drydown brings musk and amber tog ether, wrapping the wearer in a warm embrace that feels Intimate and personal rather than broadcast to the world. This arc tells a story of moving from first impression to deeper connection.
Cultural impact
The Tease family has been a pillar of Victoria's Secret fragrance since the brand's early beauty days, and Crème Cloud extends that legacy into softer territory. Madison Beer fronts the campaign, photographed by Mario Sorrenti, reinforcing the brand's signature mix of approachable glamour and aspirational cool. Community reception centers on the lactonic creaminess done right: light, airy, sweet without being cloying. The moderate sillage makes it a workplace-friendly option, while the warm vanilla and sandalwood heart give it enough depth to feel like more than a fleeting mist.
