Siberian Oudh arrived in 2020, part of Trudi Bleu London's lineup of oriental-leaning compositions. The name pulls toward the cold, vast geography of Siberia, but the composition pulls the other way entirely, toward warmth, spice, and the kind of scent that feels lived-in rather than presented. On first contact, the juice opens with a bright saffron and lavender pairing that cuts through the dark association the name suggests. It's herbal and almost clean, a far cry from the dense, resin-heavy oud fragrances that dominate the category. Then the agarwood arrives at the heart, and the whole structure pivots into something deeper, richer, and unmistakably grounded in the oud tradition.
The structure is deliberately stripped down. Three top notes, one heart, three base notes. That's restraint for an oud composition, where many houses pile resin upon resin until the scent loses its edges. Here, the saffron and lavender do the opening work alone, giving the oud room to land without competing fanfare. The base, ambergris, musk, and patchouli, anchors everything with animalic warmth without tipping into sweetness. The evolution
The first ten minutes are all saffron and lavender, bright and slightly soapy, almost unexpected for a fragrance named after oud. Then the agarwood arrives and the whole thing pivots.
