Heritage
A house, in its own words
The brand traces its origins to a perfume shop in Pune that has been in operation since 1953, making it one of the longer-running fragrance retailers in western India. Over the decades, the business evolved from a local perfumery counter into a house that commissions compositions abroad and releases them under its own label. The London association in the brand name reflects its positioning as a cosmopolitan, internationally-facing label rather than a literal founding in the UK. By 2018, Trudi Bleu had begun releasing its current lineup of bottled fragrances, including Citrus Vanille, Italian Neroli, and Dolce Pineapple, followed by Siberian Oudh and Roses Forever in 2020. The house continues to operate from its base in Pune while distributing across India and select international markets. Trudi Bleu approaches fragrance as wearable storytelling, crafting scents designed to evoke specific moods and settings rather than abstract concepts. The name 'Trudi Bleu' suggests a commitment to trustworthy, classic perfumery, grounded in European compositional traditions while remaining accessible to a broader audience. The brand positions itself within the niche space by focusing on quality ingredients and distinctive scent profiles rather than mass-market trends. Available releases span a broad olfactory map, from the gourmand warmth of Citrus Vanille to the resinous depth of Siberian Oudh and the romantic florality of Belle Rose Ambre, suggesting a philosophy that values variety and personal expression over a single house signature.
