Heritage
A house, in its own words
Titan Company entered the personal‑lifestyle market in 2013 with the introduction of Skinn, marking the group’s first dedicated fragrance house. The decision followed a strategic review that identified a gap between mass‑market scents and niche French creations in the Indian market. Early press releases noted that the brand would source its formulas from established perfumers in France, while Titan would handle production, packaging and distribution from its Mumbai hub. The inaugural launch featured three core scents – Raw, Classic Nova and Amalfi Bleu – and was supported by a retail rollout in Titan’s own stores as well as select department‑store partners. In 2015 the line expanded to include the woody‑spicy Steele and the aromatic Forest Rouge, broadening the portfolio beyond the initial citrus‑focused offerings. A notable milestone arrived in 2018 when Skinn introduced a limited‑edition fragrance, Verge, which was marketed through a collaboration with the Indian fashion label House of K. The brand’s 2020 catalogue added Country Road and Mediterranean Grove, reflecting a shift toward lighter, nature‑inspired compositions. The most recent addition, Noura Floret, arrived in 2026 and was highlighted in Titan’s seasonal campaign as a floral‑oriental blend aimed at the younger demographic. Throughout its evolution, Skinn has remained anchored to Titan’s manufacturing standards, leveraging the group’s supply‑chain capabilities while allowing the French perfumers to retain creative control. The brand’s growth has been documented in industry reports that cite its steady expansion across Tier‑1 and Tier‑2 Indian cities, as well as its entry into select online fragrance boutiques such as Projekt Perfumery. Skinn’s creative direction rests on the idea that a fragrance should be both approachable and enduring. The brand states that it seeks to translate the sensibility of French perfumery – precision, balance and narrative – into scents that fit the rhythm of everyday Indian life. Rather than chasing fleeting trends, Skinn emphasizes a long‑term relationship between wearer and scent, encouraging users to build a personal library that evolves with age and occasion. Sustainability appears in the brand’s statements as a guiding value; ingredients are sourced from suppliers that meet recognised environmental standards, and packaging is designed for recyclability. Transparency is another pillar: each fragrance is accompanied by a brief note that outlines its olfactory family, key accords and the perfumer’s inspiration. This approach reflects Titan’s broader corporate ethos of reliability and trust, extending those principles into the aromatic realm. The brand also positions itself as a bridge between cultures, pairing Indian market insights with French artistic expertise to create compositions that feel both familiar and novel. By focusing on consistency, quality and a modest aesthetic, Skinn aims to occupy a space where fragrance becomes a quiet, confident expression rather than a loud statement.
