Why it exists.
The beginning
Profumo Di Vita translates as 'Perfume of Life', and Diletta Tonatto built it around a single, generous idea: the scent of care. In the West, care smells like talcum. That note anchors the composition, giving it a nursery-soft familiarity that most florals can't reach. Diletta layered it with a bouquet designed to feel international and kind. The fragrance moves easily between skin and cloth without losing its center of gravity, settling into whatever it touches with the same quiet insistence. Launched in 2017, it was formulated to work on skin and fabric alike, and that versatility was baked into the formula from the start rather than added as an afterthought. Talc gives the composition its unmistakable softness, but the florals around it give it shape.
The choice to build a white floral around talc rather than indolic jasmine or dense tuberose is the whole statement. Talc does what few materials can: it takes the sharper edges off its neighbors without smothering their individual voices. It cushions the floral accord into something you can wear close to the skin without ever feeling sharp or insistent. The woody base and vanilla arrive not as a contrast but as a confirmation, like a hand wrapping around a warm mug after the conversation quiets down.
The evolution
The first ten minutes feel almost edible, like the air around someone who just stepped out of the bath. Talc and vanilla settle on top of the skin, close and warm, with the faintest cool flicker from violet pushing through. By the thirty-minute mark, the florals find each other. Jasmine and rose stop competing and start blending into something softer, almost suede-like. Heliotrope adds its marzipan warmth underneath, and the whole heart becomes a single texture rather than a collection of parts. There is no break between the phases, no moment where one accord steps aside for the next. The transitions happen in degrees, and the wearer feels them more as a shift in emphasis than a swap of materials. The drydown is where the composition earns its patience. Woody notes and musk take over as the hours pass, but they don't replace the powder. They deepen it.
