The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
King Eagle Horizon Sport arrived in 2026 from The Dua Brand, composed by Mahsam Raza. The brief was a citrus aromatic, the kind of composition that reads composed without reading like it's trying too hard. The result borrows its attitude from Stefano Ricci's Royal Eagle Sport while finding a quieter register, something greener and more breathable. Grapefruit leads the charge, supported by mandarin, basil, and green tea through the middle, with jasmine threading in a clean floral lift. The base settles into pale sandalwood and white musk, both sheer, neither heavy nor resinous. It's a sports silhouette rewritten through softer hands, built for someone who wants clarity on skin without the aggressive volume that the category often defaults to.
What makes the structure worth noticing is the layering of grapefruit through both the opening and the heart. The fruit persists rather than flashing once and disappearing, folded into green tea and basil before the jasmine ever enters, which gives the entire first half a continuous brightness rather than a quick burst. The white musk in the base keeps things lifted and sheer, so the sandalwood underneath never turns heavy or resinous. It's a deliberate choice that prioritizes airy wearability over density.
The evolution
The first ten minutes are loud in the best way. Grapefruit and mandarin hit sharp, almost fizzy, with basil curling through like fresh torn leaves. The green tea hasn't fully arrived yet, but there's something cool and slightly vegetal underneath the citrus, hinting at where this is going. By the thirty-minute mark, the sharpness softens. Jasmine steps forward, not indolic or heavy, just a clean white floral whisper that catches the green tea as it steeps into full presence. The basil recedes but doesn't vanish. Around the two-hour mark, sandalwood and white musk take over. The sandalwood here is pale, creamy rather than dense, and the musk gives it that just-out-of-the-shower transparency. The drydown folds grapefruit zest back through the sandalwood, a faint citrus memory that lingers alongside the musk's clean warmth.
Cultural impact
King Eagle Horizon Sport belongs to The Dua Brand's Inspired Expression line, taking the silhouette of Stefano Ricci's Royal Eagle Sport and translating it into something more wearable for daily life. The grapefruit-mandarin opening reads bright but never sharp, a controlled energy rather than a burst. The green tea and basil give the heart a cool, herbal dimension that sets it apart from typical sport fare, while the jasmine adds a clean floral lift without tipping into sweetness. The sandalwood and white musk base keeps the composition grounded but light, airy enough for warm weather yet substantial enough to register on skin.
