The beginning
1 and Only Poseidon launched in 2020 as part of The Dua Brand's Inspired Hybrid collection. This one draws from Dolce & Gabbana The One and Creed Aventus, two pillars of masculine fragrance culture that rarely share shelf space. The concept is direct: take two legendary compositions and merge their DNA into a single arc. The result is a chypre-fruity hybrid that doesn't pretend to be either parent. It borrows The One's warm, confident glow and Aventus's crisp, celebratory opening, then weaves them together rather than layering them as a simple split. The top hits with pineapple and grapefruit, that unmistakable Aventus brightness, but the brightness doesn't stay clean for long.
What makes 1 and Only Poseidon unusual isn't any single note. It's how the pyramid works as a single unit, every element pulling weight. Pineapple and grapefruit provide Aventus's signature brightness, and they're immediately caught in a net of cardamom, ginger, and birch that adds warmth without losing the snap. The evolution
The opening is almost disarmingly fresh. Pineapple and grapefruit hit first, bright and almost tart, with bergamot and ginger underneath adding a clean heat that feels more spice than fruit. Then the transition happens. The citrus doesn't fade so much as get absorbed into a wave of amber, vanilla, and tobacco that rolls in once the top notes have had their moment. Cardamom and birch sharpen the edges of that wave, pulling the composition away from anything purely sweet. This is where it stops being one thing and starts being its own animal. The fruit becomes a memory, and what rises in its place is warm, slightly sweet, deeply resinous, with oakmoss and patchouli creating a chypre shadow underneath. The base holds for hours.
