The beginning
Cheirosa 74 Intense is a bolder take on the original Cheirosa 74, carrying forward everything that made the line recognizable while turning up the intensity. The intensified version leans into the warm amber solar accord at the heart of the fragrance, deepening the composition into something richer and more concentrated. Jérôme Epinette, working with Robertet, composed the scent by drawing on a familiar palette of tropical and gourmand elements but pushing the warmth into a more saturated register. The 'Intense' designation marks a stronger concentration of the same core notes: deeper amber, more pronounced solar warmth, and a base that lingers longer than the original mist. It's the same scent reimagined at higher volume, retaining its identity while amplifying its presence.
What makes this composition interesting is the tension between brightness and heat. The pineapple and bergamot at the top give it a fruit-forward lift that reads juicy and clean, while aldehydes add a sparkling, almost effervescent edge. But the plum and orange blossom in the heart shift it toward something fleshier and warmer, and the base, built around amber notes, solar notes, and vanilla, refuses to let it stay light. That amber-solar accord sits at the center of the scent: a warm, slightly musky, sun-bathed quality that carries through every stage of wear.
The evolution
The first ten minutes belong to the pineapple. It's sharp and ripe, almost fizzy from the aldehydes, with bergamot lending a citrusy snap underneath. Orange blossom arrives quickly, softening the opening into something floral and rounded, while plum adds a dark fruit sweetness that grounds the brightness. After about an hour, the top notes recede and the solar accord takes over. This is where the fragrance reveals its real character: warm, slightly musky, and golden, like sun-warmed skin without the sunscreen. The vanilla enters late but stays long, wrapping the amber in a creamy sweetness that prevents the warmth from going dry. By hour five, the pineapple and orange blossom are memories, and what's left is amber, vanilla, and that persistent solar glow. The drydown settles into a soft blend of amber and vanilla, with the solar note continuing to radiate beneath them.
