The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Water spirits don't stay in one place. Neither does this fragrance. The name Nymph sets up a tension: mythological creatures of air and water, impossible to hold. The composition mirrors that, bright citrus that lifts and vanishes, replaced by something warm, creamy, almost edible. A fragrance about what arrives, what replaces it, and what lingers. From Ekaterina Siordia, a perfumer who treats fragrance names as portals rather than descriptions.
The heart of Nymph rests on a material that doesn't appear in every fragrance: Massoia wood. Native to Indonesia, it carries a lactonic, coconut-cream character, the same family as the note that makes Giorgio AWonderwood polarizing. Here it anchors the heart instead of dominating the drydown, which means you get that lush tropical quality softened by peach and vanilla rather than amplified by sandalwood. It's an unusual structural choice that makes the heart smell like something you'd want to taste.
The evolution
Nymph opens tart. Bitter orange and mandarin arrive bright, almost sharp, citrus that cools rather than warms. Cedar threads through from the start, keeping things grounded before the florals fully arrive. The heart shifts the tone entirely: Massoia wood brings its coconut-cream character, peach adds something ripe and sweet, and vanilla ties everything into an edible softness. The florals, tuberose, jasmine sambac, damask rose, don't shout; they blend into the cream. The drydown is where Nymph earns its name. Musk and sandalwood create that intimate warmth, powdery and close, the kind of scent that lives on skin rather than in the air. From the first spray, there's a conversation between brightness and depth. The citrus hits sharp and immediate, almost bracing in its clarity.
Cultural impact
Nymph occupies an unusual space in the niche perfume world. This fragrance stands apart from mainstream offerings, incorporating Massoia wood in a way that signals creative ambition. The unusual warmth of its drydown has attracted fragrance enthusiasts who appreciate its distinct character. Rather than following conventional market strategies, this scent relies on its unconventional composition to find its audience. Those drawn to Nymph tend to value complexity over convention, finding in its layered development something that rewards patience and attention.
