The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Founded in 1983 in Muscat, Osmanli Oud translates Ottoman heritage into modern perfume, blending natural ingredients with historic narratives. Aslihan Hatun belongs to the Efsana collection, a line that honors figures from Ottoman lore. Drawing from archival poetry and court records, the house selected damask rose, a staple of Turkish gardens, and pure agarwood to echo the regal presence of a historic lady.
The note selection for Aslihan Hatun reflects Osmanli Oud's commitment to storytelling through scent. Damask rose honors the flower's significance in Turkish and Ottoman culture, while oud connects the wearer to the region's historic perfumery traditions. The drydown of chocolate, clove, and praline was chosen to create an Intimate, lasting impression that feels personal rather than performative. Each note was selected to serve the narrative of a legendary lady, whose complexity could only be captured through this specific progression.
The evolution
Aslihan Hatun opens with damask rose in full bloom, capturing the romance of Ottoman court gardens at dawn. The floral sweetness serves as an introduction, drawing the wearer into the narrative before the deeper chapters unfold. Within minutes, pure oud enters the composition with resinous authority. This agarwood heart transforms the fragrance from romantic to regal, grounding it in centuries of perfumery tradition. The drydown brings chocolate, clove, and praline into a warm finale. Praline adds an edible sweetness, chocolate lends rich depth, and clove provides just enough spice to keep the composition from tipping into pure indulgence. The result is a fragrance that tells a complete story from first spray to final hours on skin.
Cultural impact
Aslihan Hatun, nestled in the Efsana/Legends line, has become a talking point among collectors for its daring rose‑oud‑chocolate blend. Its warm, sweet‑spicy character is frequently compared to other Ottoman‑inspired releases, positioning it as a modern homage to historic elegance within niche circles.
