The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Womanity Liqueurs de Parfum arrived in 2013 as a limited edition interpretation of the original Womanity. The concept: fuse the original's signature fig and aquatic-saline character with the world of spirits. Mugler's perfumers developed a patented method inspired by the techniques used to produce fine vodkas, then aged the concentrate in toasted oak casks. The result is a richer, more opulent expression of the Womanity idea, fig leaf and fig fruit meet hazel and dried fruit, grounded in woody depth that feels like aged spirit rather than fresh foliage. It's the original turned inward, matured, made more itself.
What makes this composition unusual is the collision of cold and warm. The vodka accord opens sharp, almost medicinal, clean and biting, like the first sip of something that wasn't expecting to be in a perfume. Against it, fig leaf brings green, slightly bitter freshness, the scent of a fig tree's canopy rather than its fruit. The hazelnut is the bridge: gourmand enough to connect to the dried fruits and spices in the heart, woody enough to resolve into the base without becoming sugary. The caviar note, salty, umami, almost oceanic, is the real differentiator. It gives the sweetness something to push against.
The evolution
The opening hits fast. Vodka clarity, sharp and cool, cuts through before the fig leaf arrives with its green, slightly bitter bite. Hazelnut emerges next, roasted and warm, unexpectedly generous. The dried fruits develop as the heart unfolds, sweet and slightly animalic, while the caviar accord lends an umami undertone that keeps the sweetness from becoming cloying. The woody base from oak cask aging takes over as the composition evolves, bringing toasted warmth to the drydown. The sillage remains noticeable, the dried fruit warmth carrying through the later stages. Womanity Liqueurs de Parfum is built for a night that doesn't end early, and a woman who isn't counting.
Cultural impact
Womanity Liqueurs de Parfum occupies a singular position in the Mugler catalog, a limited edition that refined rather than reinvented the house's core proposition. This interpretation softened the original's sharper edges into something richer and more universally wearable. The fig and fig leaf at the heart of Womanity meet the depth of oak and dried fruits in a composition that feels both familiar and entirely new. Those who loved the original's audacity find it here, warmed by oak and fruit.
