A Propos Gemini is the Maison Douze translation of the sign of the twins, and it arrived in 2023 as part of a house built from the start around the zodiac. Anne-Sophie Behaghel composed this one, and the result is a study in deliberate pairing. Mint and basil at the top. Lily of the valley and galbanum through the middle. A sparkling water and ambroxan base that refuses to settle. Two faces of the same coin, pulled apart at the seam. The mint arrives cold, almost mentholated, and the basil warms the edges just enough to keep the opening from reading as one-dimensional. Then galbanum enters with its sharp green bite, cutting against the softer sweetness of lily of the valley, and the composition settles into a push and pull that defines the wear.
What makes this composition worth attention is the structural bet Behaghel placed. Galbanum and lily of the valley sit at the center, pulling in different directions, and the way they interact defines the entire middle stretch.
