The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
I-Dream joined the Maison d'Etto stable in 2025, composed by Rodrigo Flores-Roux. Where this collection reaches toward its own quiet territory, this one aims somewhere stranger still: the space where reverie and wakefulness blur, the place the mind drifts when the body stays rooted. The name itself, set apart with an em-dash in the brand's styling, carries a weight the composition earns. It's not rest. It's the thing that happens when a thought refuses to settle, hovering in that liminal territory between presence and elsewhere. There's a patience to the way it unfolds, a willingness to hold back rather than announce, trusting the wearer to lean in rather than projecting outward. That restraint feels like the point.
Carrot seed anchors the composition's texture, lending a papery, almost grainy quality that runs beneath the milk and leather, keeping things grounded where they might otherwise slip into gourmand territory. Clary sage and cypress build the structural frame, herbal and resinous-green, giving the solar florals something substantial to push against rather than float past. Then milk and leather arrive, not as comfort but as warmth with presence, the kind that registers on skin as something tactile and lived-in.
The evolution
The opening belongs entirely to texture. Carrot seed's dry papery grain sits alongside clary sage's herbal coolness, and underneath, something warm has already begun building in the base. The solar florals don't announce themselves so much as glow through the green, diffusing everything into a soft, diffused haze that softens every edge. As the hours pass, the leather arrives fully, supple and worn-in, and the milk accord pulls things together with a creamy warmth that shifts the reading from herbal to something closer to skin. The vanilla and frankincense eventually take over as the top notes fade. The animalic warmth underneath grows more intimate over time, never aggressive, settling closer to the body with each passing hour. The moss grounds everything into something earthy and quiet, a base note that hums rather than announces.
Cultural impact
I-Dream sits within a collection that treats fragrance as something closer to portraiture than product, each scent capturing a particular quality or atmosphere rather than chasing seasonal trends. The composition leans into territory that resists easy categorization: warmer than a green fragrance, more tactile than a floral, more interior than anything the line had previously offered. It occupies the space where leather compositions meet gourmand sensibilities, but refuses to commit fully to either camp, holding instead in that productive middle ground.
