Geranium brings green, almost minty sharpness that clary sage echoes with its own herbal-cool quality. Cinnamon then arrives to warm both into something that reads almost like mulled wine, before the base pulls everything back toward earth. The benzoin-leather combination in the drydown is a resin-on-skin pairing that holds the composition together through the late hours. It works because nothing dominates.

The evolution

The opening belongs to bergamot and pepper, which arrive sharper than the incense let on. There's brightness up top, almost a green citrus bite, then the incense curls underneath and softens the edges. Soon after, the geranium and cinnamon take over. The sage grounds the geranium's sharper herbal quality, and the cinnamon reads warm but not sugared. There's a dry, almost dusty quality here that feels more grounded than gourmand. As the composition settles, the base takes command. Patchouli anchors everything with its earthy depth, cedarwood adds a pencil-shaving dryness, and the leather emerges slowly, warming into benzoin's vanilla-adjacent sweetness. The white musk keeps it close to skin rather than letting it project widely. In the late drydown, what's left is a soft leather-and-musk blend that reads more intimate than the opening suggested.
