Heritage
A house, in its own words
Kolmaz began Middle Eastern operations in 2015, opening its first retail outlet in the Kingdom of Bahrain two years later, in 2017. Its marketing materials describe the brand as born in Oman and refined for a wider regional audience, a detail the company has emphasized in a short film highlighting Omani landscapes and cultural heritage. Subsequent expansion brought stores to Abu Sidra Mall in Qatar and additional locations across Saudi Arabia and Oman, establishing a Gulf-wide retail footprint. While the name carries a Parisian association, the company's documented commercial history begins in the Gulf rather than in France. The brand's catalog reflects this dual identity, with Arabic-titled fragrances such as Sulthana, Sufiana, and Aghoras sitting alongside Western floral and gourmand names like Freesia, Florida, and Chameleon. Kolmaz's stated aim is to offer a world of fragrances spanning from timeless elegance to bold self-expression, presenting customers with options suited to both everyday wear and gifting occasions. The brand places visible emphasis on purity of fragrance, a phrase it repeats across its social channels and promotional material, and frames its collection as an invitation to discover rather than a fixed aesthetic statement. By curating both Arabian and European houses under a single roof, Kolmaz operates on the belief that regional customers want access to varied olfactory traditions without having to navigate separate specialists. The company describes its role as a curator and bridge, connecting Gulf audiences to established perfume houses while also championing locally resonant names like Arabi Cana.
