Royal

The leather here isn't the clean kind. It's the material before it becomes a bag, animalic, resinous, with a warmth that reads almost raw. Jasmine exists to soften it, not compete with it. The freesia in the heart is doing real work: bridging the dark opening to a base that finally exhales. Violet adds that powdery lift that keeps the whole thing from going too heavy. The oud isn't a dominant note, it's structural. It holds the heart together so the amber and vanilla wood can settle close without feeling sweet.

The evolution

The opening hits first. Leather, jasmine, a moment of something almost styrax-like, resinous, dark. The florals take over, arriving quietly as the top notes recede. Freesia and lily of the valley arrive quietly, the violet adds that powdery lift, and the oud anchors everything without announcing itself. The drydown is where Royal earns its name: amber and vanilla wood wrapping around skin, musk keeping it intimate. The sillage stays close, wrapping around the wearer rather than projecting outward. The next morning, a faint trace of vanilla wood and musk on the wrist. Worth the wear.
