The evolution

The opening hits bright and green. Currant buds give a tartness that reads more like blackcurrant leaf than fruit, clean, slightly bitter, botanical. Freesia arrives within minutes, adding its soapy-floral character, and the two together feel like spring morning air. The rose doesn't announce itself. It seeps in, taking over the freesia's space by the forty-minute mark. Then the base arrives: patchouli first, earthy and dark, followed by vanilla sweetness that tames the patchouli's edge. The woody notes and ambroxan hold everything together, creating a warm, skin-close drydown that lingers for four to six hours. On fabric, it lasts longer, the vanilla settling into something almost creamy, almost edible, but never quite going all the way.
