The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Neroli Voyage arrived in 2019 as Floris's answer to the summer fragrance question. The composition draws from neroli extracted from citrus blossom, paired with marine salt accents that add a subtle briny quality. Jasmine from warmer climates brings a rich floral depth, while oak provides a woody foundation that supports the brighter top notes. The result is a fragrance that balances freshness with substance, offering something that feels both light and grounded. There's an intentional contrast at work here, citrus brightness against a more substantial base that gives the scent persistence and character without heaviness.
What makes Neroli Voyage interesting is the fennel. It threads through the heart alongside ginger, adding an aromatic, slightly spicy quality that keeps the florals from going too sweet. Combined with the marine notes, it creates a fragrance where bright citrus and cool salt air coexist without one overwhelming the other. The neroli reads as floral first, with the fennel and ginger providing structure underneath that prevents the composition from feeling lightweight.
The evolution
The opening hits immediately, citrus and sea salt together, bright and clearing. Neroli arrives fast, softening the lemon before the marine notes settle into something more refined. Around the 30-minute mark, the heart develops. Jasmine becomes more present, ginger adds a clean spice, and the fennel starts to show its aromatic character. This middle phase is where the fragrance reveals its complexity, as the floral and aromatic elements weave together into something cohesive. The drydown arrives around two hours in. Musk and oak take over, with amber adding warmth underneath. The florals fade but don't disappear, they linger at the edges, keeping the drydown from going fully woody. The progression moves from bright and effervescent to something more composed, with each stage offering its own appeal.
Cultural impact
Neroli Voyage appeals to those seeking a fresh, clean fragrance for warmer months. The combination of neroli and marine notes creates a bright opening, while the fennel and ginger add enough complexity to keep it interesting beyond the surface level. The clean drydown and moderate projection make it versatile enough for daytime wear. There's sufficient depth in the composition that it doesn't feel one-dimensional, with the woody base providing substance that prevents it from disappearing too quickly on the skin.
