The beginning
Rainbow Gems translates the full color spectrum into scent, a Cuarzo The Circle composition by Ramón Béjar that takes the light-play of precious stones and renders it as a fruity, floral, and woody perfume. The brand's mineralogical world meets Béjar's work as a perfumer, framing each gem-themed release within a lineup that draws on the visual language of gemstones. Rainbow Gems sits among the house's collection of gem-themed releases, a special edition that pairs the conceptual with the ornamental. Original Swarovski crystals accent the bottle, reinforcing the gemstone theme that runs through the presentation. The composition itself is what carries the concept: a fruity opening that gives way to a classical floral heart and settles into a warm, woody base.
What makes the composition structurally interesting is the contrast between a single, bold fruity note up top and a fully developed classical floral heart. Rather than building a conventional soliflore or a linear sweet, the formula stages the bright fruity accord against a powdery iris core supported by jasmine, peony, and rose. The cedar-musk base then grounds what could have floated away into confection. The result reads as something more deliberate than fruit candy, sweet but structured, with the iris doing the heavy lifting between opening fruit and closing wood.
The evolution
The first thirty minutes are all about fruit, and unapologetically so. The fruity accord opens with the kind of sweetness that announces itself across a room, bright and full. Then something shifts. The jasmine and rose begin to surface, but it's iris that takes over the composition, powdery and cool, pulling the sweetness into something more reserved. By hour three the fruity opening has largely vanished, replaced by a creamy floral warmth that feels closer to the skin. Cedar arrives quietly in the background, never sharp, more a soft woody hum beneath the musk. The drydown runs long through the evening, and what remains at the end of the day is a skin-close blend of warm musk and faint iris powder. The fruit becomes a memory of the opening, the soft floral-woody blend is what carries the composition home.
