The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Casati's N.79 arrived in 2025 as the seventh colour-coded scent, the number echoing the house's fascination with visual shorthand. The brand treats each perfume as a moving picture; N.79's canvas is a deep amber hue that suggests a warm, late-evening glow. Inspired by the idea of a sweet-spicy table setting where candlelight flickers against amber glass, the perfumer built N.79 around contrasts, bright opening notes that yield to warm, edible heart notes before resolving into a sophisticated, resinous base.
The note structure reflects Casati's philosophy that a fragrance should read like a colour changing across light. Bergamot and geranium create the sharpest tone, like a highlight on amber glass. The honey-mimosa heart becomes the main hue, warm and golden. Tobacco and patchouli serve as shadows that give the fragrance dimension, preventing it from becoming flatly sweet. Worn alone, these notes tell the story. Layered with complementary scents, they become part of a larger palette.
The evolution
N.79 begins its journey with bergamot and geranium cutting through with clean, aromatic precision. Within minutes, mimosa and jasmine emerge, their floral character softened by honey's edible sweetness. Cinnamon appears as a bridging note, linking the delicate heart to the deeper drydown. As amber, tonka bean, patchouli and tobacco take over, the fragrance transforms from airy to Intimate, with vanilla providing a final comforting touch that lingers for hours.
Cultural impact
N.79 quickly became a talking point among niche enthusiasts for its bold fruit‑spice‑leather blend, often described as a gourmand that doesn’t shy away from heat. Wearers note its ability to stand out in Intimate settings, making it a favorite for evening gatherings and creative circles. Its colour‑coded concept reinforces the brand’s reputation for marrying visual art with scent, cementing Casati’s place as a modern, art‑focused niche house.
