The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Bruno Banani built Magnetic Woman around the idea of attraction without pretense. Released in 2022, this EDP channels the brand's irreverent German approach: bold combinations, playful rebellion against conventional elegance. Noble jasmine paired with sweet gianduja creates the core tension, while cocoa and cedar ground it in warmth. The scent doesn't whisper. It claims space.
What makes this composition interesting is how the fruity opening refuses to stay quiet. Blackcurrant and pear give it an immediate brightness, but the gianduia and cacao in the heart shift the register entirely. Suddenly you're in gourmand territory, though jasmine keeps enough florality present to prevent it from reading like dessert. The base, cashmeran and cedar, pulls everything back toward warmth without losing the sweetness that opened the whole thing. It's a fragrance built on contrast: tart to creamy, bright to warm, floral to chocolatey.
The evolution
The opening hits bright and tart, blackcurrant leading, pear adding softness, citrus lifting everything. Thirty minutes in and the gianduja takes over, that hazelnut-chocolate cream wrapping around the jasmine like a warm blanket. The transition surprises you because the floral doesn't disappear; it sits underneath the chocolate, keeping it from becoming too heavy. By the second hour, the cedar emerges and the cashmeran smooths everything into something skin-close. Six to eight hours later, there's still warmth lingering, cocoa dust, soft woods, that quiet sweetness that stays intimate and close rather than filling the room.
Cultural impact
Bruno Banani carved a niche in affordable luxury with scents that refuse to play it safe. Magnetic Woman joins a lineage that includes Time To Play and Radiant Woman, fragrances built for those who chose attitude over heritage. The 2022 release taps into the enduring appetite for chocolate-floral Gourmand compositions, sitting alongside peers like YSL Black Opium and Carolina Herrera Good Girl while carving its own space through accessible pricing and unapologetic sweetness.
