Why it exists.
The beginning
Thomas Obroki designed Reflect around a single idea: what if clarity itself was the point? Not the clarity of nature, not the citrus of a specific Italian grove or the rose of Grasse. The clarity of modern intention. Ozonic molecules designed in a lab to evoke the exact sensation of waking up and being present. Named Reflect for the act of looking inward, of checking in with yourself before the day makes demands. The fragrance doesn't whisper or seduce. It states. It reflects. The 2021 limited release for men arrived with the confidence of something that knows exactly what it is.
The interesting choice here is using violet and clary sage as the connective tissue. Violet usually lives in powdery florals or vintage compositions. Here, it's almost a counterweight to the synthetic top, a material lifted from classical perfumery threaded through a deliberately modern structure. Clary sage does similar work, adding an herbal green note that keeps the ozonic from feeling too sterile. The result is a fragrance that references older perfumery while refusing to smell like it. Amberwood and cedarwood in the base give it somewhere to land, warm enough to keep skin close but not warm enough to announce itself across a room.
The evolution
The opening hits immediately, bright, citrusy, synthetic-clean. Bergamot and ozonic notes arrive together, sharp and efficient. No gentle transition. This is a fragrance that enters like someone late for a meeting. Within fifteen minutes, the citrus begins to recede. Violet emerges, bringing a quiet powdery quality that softens the edges. Clary sage follows, adding a herbal twist that some wearers describe as plastic or rubber-adjacent, a polarizing detail that either becomes the fragrance's signature or its breaking point. The heart holds for roughly an hour before amber and cedarwood arrive. The drydown is intimate, woody, close to the skin. By hour three, what remains is a whisper of clean wood and the faintest trace of violet powder. On fabric, expect a faint ghost of the opening the next morning.

Reflect occupies an interesting space in the modern men's fragrance landscape, deliberately synthetic, openly contemporary, neither vintage-inspired nor aggressively avant-garde.
