The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Mar a Gosto invites the wearer to find their own meaning within its composition. Created for Avatim by Juliana Tolotti and Luciana Bergamasco, the fragrance captures a sense of personal pleasure through its blend of bright citrus and soft florals. The opening delivers an immediate burst of Sicilian lemon and mandarin, crisp and energizing. Beneath this, neroli and freesia weave together, with jasmine providing gentle warmth. The drydown settles into amber, intimate and honeyed, lingering close to the skin. Each layer offers something distinct, yet the whole feels cohesive, shaped around the wearer's own sensory experience. The name suggests interpretation, and the composition delivers it.
What makes Mar a Gosto interesting is its restraint. A citrus-floral-amber structure could easily tip into formality or cloying sweetness. Here, the pyramid stays honest, bright opening, gentle heart, warm but never heavy base. The amber doesn't overpower. It lingers, quiet and close, like the memory of a warm afternoon after the light's already gone. Tolotti and Bergamasco built something that breathes.
The evolution
The opening arrives quick, Sicilian lemon and mandarin cutting bright and immediate. The citrus settles gracefully, allowing freesia to take center stage while neroli whispers beside it. Jasmine adds a soft warmth underneath, and the florals do not compete with each other. They share. The drydown belongs to amber, warm, honeyed, intimate. Close to the skin. A quiet ending that lingers before fading. The florals fade first, and the amber stays, barely there, until you stop paying attention. Each stage of the fragrance feels deliberate, with notes transitioning smoothly from one to the next.
Cultural impact
Mar a Gosto occupies a quiet corner of the aquatic-floral space, not the bold, salty ocean-blast of some aquatics, not the sugary sweetness of mainstream florals. It speaks to the wearer who wants something fresh and wearable without feeling like they are wearing a concept. The fragrance balances bright citrus notes with soft florals and a warm amber base, creating layers that reveal themselves gradually. Mar a Gosto offers a fresh, personal approach that stands apart from louder fragrances in the category. The composition invites repeated wearing, with each stage of development offering something slightly different to discover.
