The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Swar D'Amour joined Arabiyat Prestige's expanding catalog in 2026, part of the house's Swar collection and marketed under the My Perfumes Factory umbrella. The fragrance slots into a catalog that continues to grow with each release cycle, finding its place among compositions that draw from a shared well of Arabian-inspired materials and modern perfumery technique. As a unisex composition, D'Amour reads without leaning hard toward traditionally masculine or feminine territory, letting the notes speak without category-imposed constraints. The 'Swar' designation places it within a collection alongside other releases bearing the same label, creating a thread of scents that share naming conventions and, often, overlapping creative territory.
What makes this composition interesting is the tension in its opening. Sea salt and suede sitting alongside lemon and mandarin is a deliberate collision of textures, mineral and soft, bright and tactile. The suede accord is doing a lot of quiet work here, lending the citrus burst a fleshy, almost skin-like depth rather than letting it read as a simple freshener. It is a structural choice that pays off as the fragrance evolves.
The evolution
The first 15 minutes are the loudest this fragrance ever gets. Lemon and mandarin spark sharp, undercut by a wet saltiness that reads more coastline than kitchen. Suede weaves underneath, softening the edges, so the opening never feels aggressive, just awake. Around the 30-minute mark, jasmine and amber take the wheel, and moss grounds the whole thing in something damp and green, like stone after rain. The jasmine doesn't shout; it hums beneath the amber, adding a soft floral undertone that prevents the middle phase from becoming too dense or resinous. The amber itself glows rather than blazes, warm and slightly honeyed, and the moss ties everything together with that cool, vegetal dampness. The transition into drydown is where mineral amber, musk, and patchouli settle into a close, warm hum.
Cultural impact
Swar D'Amour carries a salt-and-suede opening and a grounded warmth through its drydown that appeal to those who favor texture over flash. The mineral undertone running through the composition, from the wet saltiness at the top to the mineral amber at the base, gives the fragrance a distinctive fingerprint within the broader catalog. This thread of minerality, woven alongside suede and damp moss, creates a quiet complexity that rewards closer attention rather than demanding it from across a room.
