The beginning
Under the Elegant Coconut Palms arrived in 2017, the work of house perfumer Sharra Lamoureaux. Banana leaf, frangipani, coconut water, the white sweetness of tobacco flower after sundown. The brand called it "a tropical enchantment," and the fragrance leans into the lush sensory world of a coconut grove rather than the sticky-sweet shorthand most tropical scents fall back on. There's a botanical fidelity here that makes the composition feel grown rather than poured. The frangipani brings its waxy, sun-warmed floral depth while tobacco flower contributes a soft, creamy sweetness that reads more like dusk than dessert. Banana leaf adds a green, almost chlorophyll-bright snap that cuts through the creamier elements and keeps the whole thing from collapsing into sugar.
What separates this from the sunscreen aisle is the grounding underneath the sweetness.
