The Story
Why it exists.
Stairway to Heaven arrived in 2018 as creation’s answer to the notion of a personal ascent. Vincent Ricord was tasked with turning the metaphor of a climb, obstacles, doubts, a fleeting glimpse of light, into scent. The brief called for a single thematic idea, a “path of enchanted flowers” that guides the wearer toward an imagined horizon. Drawing on the house’s concise six-scent launch, the perfume was built around bright citrus to mark the first step, then a warm, spicy heart that suggests the effort of climbing, finally settling into a soft, comforting base that feels like reaching the top.

The Beginning
Why the blend works lies in the contrast between the sharp, sun-kissed citrus and the resinous depth of frankincense. The pepper-cardamom duo injects a fleeting heat that never overwhelms, while jasmine adds a fleeting white-floral lift. Cedarwood grounds the dry-down, and the sweet-creamy veil of tonka bean, vanilla and white musk turns the finish into a velvety sigh, making the journey feel both uplifting and reassuring.
The Evolution
At first spray, the citrus trio, bergamot, mandarin orange and lemon, cuts through the air like a sunrise over stone, while frankincense adds a thin, incense veil that feels almost meditative. Within ten minutes the heart erupts: black pepper and cardamom spark a warm, aromatic fire, softened by jasmine’s airy bloom and the green crispness of petitgrain. As the composition settles, cedarwood lays a woody foundation, then tonka bean and vanilla melt into a creamy amber, while white musk drifts in, giving the dry-down a powdery, skin-soft finish. The incense never disappears; it lingers as a faint, smoky echo, reminding the wearer of the climb’s lingering doubts, now soothed. On most skin the scent clings for four to six hours, projecting a moderate sillage that stays intimate yet noticeable.
Cultural Impact
Since its 2018 debut, the fragrance has become a quiet favorite among niche collectors who value the brand’s single‑theme storytelling, often cited alongside Nirvana and My Way as part of creation’s concise six‑scent narrative. Its subtle blend of citrus and resin has inspired a small community of enthusiasts who appreciate the restrained elegance and the way it captures a moment of calm ascent, reinforcing its status as a cult classic in modern perfumery circles.
