Amouage was founded in 1983 in the Sultanate of Oman to revive the region's ancient perfumery traditions. The house blends Arabian heritage with French perfumery techniques, creating fragrances that are opulent, complex, and unapologetically bold. Guidance arrived in 2023 as part of The Odyssey Collection, Amouage's ongoing exploration of what luxury fragrance can say. Perfumer Quentin Bisch was given an unusual brief: reinterpret the house's sacred triad of rose, frankincense, and ambergris through a contemporary lens anchored in new materials. The result is a fragrance that honors tradition while pushing sensory boundaries.
Guidance's note architecture reflects a philosophy of contrasts, pairing bright fruity notes against deep resins and creamy woods to create something that evolves continuously on skin. The evolution
