His assignment: Australian Sandalwood Album, a material with an almost mystical energy in perfumery. His idea was to bring in contemporary Parisian sensibility, find the brightness in what is usually heavy, the creaminess in what is usually woody and grumbling. The result is Santal Calling. A fragrance named after an action, the act of being summoned, pulled toward something irresistible. The idea of a spell, an unstoppable pull, translated into scent.
