The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Bombshell Celebration arrived in 2021 as a limited holiday edition to the Bombshell line. The original Bombshell is America's number one fragrance, so the pressure was on to create something that felt celebratory without replacing it. Perfumer Nathalie Benareau reached for a champagne-peony pairing that would amplify the signature's floral femininity into something more effervescent and party-ready.
The winter woods note is where the craft lives. The spruce keeps the sweetness from becoming cloying, and the sandalwood gives the peony something to rest against that isn't another floral. It reframes the frosty-peony concept as something warm rather than cold. As the scent develops on skin, the initial crispness of the pine softens into a creamy, resinous quality that mingles with the florals, creating a balanced composition that lingers with subtle woodsy warmth throughout the dry-down.
The evolution
The opening announces itself immediately. That champagne note is effervescent, slightly sweet, and entirely intentional. It doesn't linger. Within minutes, the pink peony arrives and takes over the mid-section, softer and more powdery than expected. The drydown is where blue spruce and sandalwood hold the composition close to the skin for hours. The sillage stays intimate, not loud, but it lasts. Wearers report the base notes outlasting everything else, settling into a clean, woody warmth that carries into the next morning on fabric.
Cultural impact
Bombshell Celebration is a limited holiday edition that carries the Bombshell DNA but adds an effervescent, winter-specific character that sets it apart from the core line. The scent opens with a bright, sparkling quality that feels celebratory, then settles into a powdery softness that adds depth and warmth to the composition. This warmth makes it more versatile than a typical seasonal release, transitioning effortlessly from daytime wear to evening occasions. The powdery notes give it a classic, timeless appeal that feels at home during the holidays yet remains relevant throughout the colder months.
