The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Rainbow Sherbet Ice Cream landed in 2022, part of The Dua Brand's Original Blend Collection. The premise was simple: capture the carefree, sun-streaked feeling of a childhood ice cream stand without literal sticky sweetness. Raspberry puree, lime juice, and orange juice do the colorful work. Milk, cream, and an unsweetened ice cream accord build the body. Sugar sweetens. White musk and Ambroxan anchor everything in something that actually lasts on skin rather than dissolving into candy air. It's a gourmand that respects the dessert without drowning in it.
What sets this composition apart is restraint in a category that usually doesn't bother. Most gourmand launches lean hard into caramel, vanilla extract, and frosting. Rainbow Sherbet Ice Cream pulls back. The unsweetened ice cream accord keeps the dairy cold rather than cloying. The fruit trio stays bright and acidic enough to cut through the milk. Ambroxan does the heavy lifting in the base, lending a clean, skin-like warmth that keeps the sugar from sliding into novelty. The musk softens rather than sharpens. Together they create a wearable dessert, not a confectionery display.
The evolution
The first ten minutes are a splash. Lime and orange juice hit sharp and cold, bright enough to register as frozen fruit before the cream shows up. Raspberry puree threads underneath, tart and seeded. Around the twenty-minute mark the milk and cream settle in, turning the citrus into something smoother. The unsweetened ice cream accord takes over by the one-hour mark, and the Ambroxan starts warming the base. By hour three the citrus has fully surrendered, and what remains is a soft, milky musk with a faint raspberry echo. The Ambroxan carries the final stretch. On fabric the next morning, it's clean cream and faint fruit, like the ghost of a dessert that left without saying goodbye.
Cultural impact
Rainbow Sherbet Ice Cream leans into dessert as a feeling rather than a literal replication. The fragrance plays with the idea of scooped sweetness, building a composition where fruity and creamy accords trade places across the wear. Up top, the brighter citrus and berry-edged notes give that first impression of something cold and refreshing, almost like cracking open a container of frozen sherbet on a warm afternoon. As the scent settles, the creamier elements come forward, softening the brighter edges and pushing the composition toward something richer and more dessert-like.
