The structure is interesting because it refuses to choose sides. The opening is all bright, tart fruit. The drydown leans smoky and masculine with birch and patchouli holding down the base. Vanilla bridges the two without softening either. It's a fragrance that begins with an invigorating freshness and evolves toward something more grounded, and it does it without a dramatic transition. The fruit doesn't disappear. It just stops being the point.

The evolution

The top notes hit immediately. Crisp apple arrives first, bright and immediate. Bright blackcurrant follows with a tart, berry bite that cuts through. A whisper of birch smoke threads underneath, subtle but present. There's an immediate tension here between the fruit sweetness and something more austere. About thirty minutes in, the pineapple takes over as the dominant character. It becomes almost candied, rounding out the apple and adding a tropical sweetness that reads as confident rather than sweet. The jasmine adds a gentle floral counterbalance, preventing the fruit from becoming overwhelming. Patchouli provides earthy depth that grounds the brighter notes. By the time the drydown arrives, the fragrance has shifted entirely. Patchouli and vanilla become the anchors. The fruit notes fade but don't vanish entirely. They linger as a sweet memory of the opening, warm on the skin.
