The Story
Why it exists.
The beginning
Intense Berries arrived in 2026 from The Dua Brand's Dua Designer Line, a collection built around reinterpretations of well-known scent profiles. Mahsam Raza, the perfumer behind the formula, composed the fragrance with strawberry and blackberry leading the opening, a pairing chosen because the two fruits read instantly and carry a jammy, almost jam-preserve quality on skin. From that bright, candy-like start, the formula pulls toward a warmer heart built around caramel and jasmine, where the burnt-sugar richness of the caramel softens into the indolic sweetness of the jasmine. Underneath, amber and oakmoss wait in the base to keep the sweetness from floating off, lending a mossy, slightly bitter counterweight to the candied fruit on top.
The interesting move here is the oakmoss. Rather than letting caramel carry the base alone, Intense Berries threads a mossy, slightly bitter-green note through the sweetness, which gives the composition a quiet backbone. The caramel reads more like spun sugar than burnt caramel, and the oakmoss sits just below it, adding a cool, damp quality that prevents the gourmand elements from feeling sticky or one-note.
The evolution
On skin, Intense Berries opens loud and immediate. The strawberry hits first, bright and jammy, then the blackberry darkens the fruit profile within the first ten minutes. Sugar rides on top of both, glossy and almost candy-like at the start, but it doesn't stay that sweet for long. Around the thirty-minute mark, the caramel climbs in underneath and the composition shifts from fruit-snack to dessert proper, warm and buttery. Jasmine stays subtle, more of a texture than a statement, smoothing the edges between the berries and the richer material below. By the second hour, amber has taken over the middle register, resinous and golden, while the oakmoss begins to assert itself in the base. That mossy-green note is the surprise, it shows up later than you'd expect and gives the fragrance a slightly damp, forest-floor quality that keeps it from reading as pure sugar. The drydown settles into a caramel-amber-moss blend that lingers close to skin for the remainder of the wear, warm and faintly sweet without becoming cloying.
Cultural impact
Intense Berries reads as a dessert-leaning composition that takes the fruited-gourmand template and adds a more grounded finish through its oakmoss and amber base notes. The strawberry and blackberry opening delivers an immediate sweetness, the kind of candy-like burst that registers within the first few minutes of wear, while the caramel and jasmine in the heart give the fragrance a warmer, more rounded mid-phase. The oakmoss and amber in the base anchor the sweetness with a slightly bitter, resinous quality that extends the wear and keeps the composition from disappearing into a flat sugary trail.
